Mother-Daughter Conversation“Mom?”
“Yes honey?”
“I’ve got something I need to tell you.”
“Oh – Oh, well come here and sit down, you know you can tell me anything.”
“Don’t freak out or anything, but I think I’m turning religious.”
“Oh! Well dear, you know there are things you can do for that. Put you in the middle of a good old fashioned calamity and it’ll get the God right out of you.”
“I tried that, remember the Jenkins?”
“Oh my, that long ago?”
“MmHmm. I saw all that suffering and all I could this was ‘It’s God’s will.’ and every time something good happened, I saw the Grace of God performing a miracle.”
“Honey.”
“It gets worse. I think I’ve been chosen by Him to spread His Good Word.”
“Well! We’ll have none of that in this house. And I’ll not have you polluting our good name by spreading such nonsense in town.”
“I know Mom, that’s why I’ve decided to go on… pilgrimage.”
“Good Chaos! You’ll give your father a heart attack saying things like that!”
“I know mom, but I’ve just got to.”
“Just don’t come crying to me when you find your Glorious God hasn’t warmed your breakfast fro you.”
“I won’t mom.”
“Oh baby, are you sure?”
“Religiously Mom.”
“Well, if you’re really sure….”
